Hello and welcome to my very first blog post! If you haven't already read it or noticed, I am a photographer that is local to the Vail area. I have been here for the last 14 years and have no plans to leave! I have always had an interest in photography but it wasn't until my wife bought me my first camera that I really got into it. I soon realized that I wanted to make a career out of it. For the last few years, I have been working to grow my business and hope to one day make it a full time career. Enough about me as a person. This blog is going to tell the story of my work through photos (and of course some text). I hope to share the photos that I am most proud of, along with a little insight as to how and why they were captured. I hope you enjoy and please, if you have any questions or comments, always feel free to reach out to me!

I have been trying to use my longer lens more often on all family photoshoots. Its a 70-200mm and 2.8 aperture, meaning its better in lower light. Little did I know, I would be getting plenty of practice with it, but not by choice. The social distancing hasn't given me a choice. I have had a bit of time to shoot landscapes, which I truly enjoy. However, I know I need to continually shoot families to sharpen my skills and constantly improve. For this reason, I was very eager to take pictures for the Carson family. They are longtime friends of mine and recently had a new addition to the family, making a family of 4. They have a beautiful property and I was able to utilize it for the photoshoot. I arrived around 9:45am and we began taking pictures around 10-10:15am. Only two of the photos were taken with a flash, the rest were natural light and all were edited using Adobe Lightroom.
